Privacy Policy
Miter & Lathe Custom Carpentry (Staging) ("we", "our", or "us") is a custom carpentry shop in Northeast Ohio, and operates this website. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect through it, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
Personal Information We Collect
- Project inquiries. Your name, phone number, email address, city, ZIP code, how you heard about us, the type of project, when you want to start, and the project you describe when you use the form on the Start Your Project page.
- Bookings. The name, email address, and answers you enter when you book a time on the Schedule a Time page. After an inquiry, your browser holds your name and email address for that tab only, so the booking form can fill them in.
- Sign-in. The phone number or email address we send a one-time sign-in code to. Only our staff and crew sign in.
- Crew records. If you work with us, the crew app keeps your name, phone number, pay rate, hours, and the receipts you upload, with the client names and job addresses you work at.
- Shopping cart. Some pages create an empty shopping cart on our server and keep its number in your browser's local storage. We do not sell products through this website.
- Technical data. Your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, which our servers record for security and to diagnose errors.
If you text, call, or email us directly, your message reaches us like any other text, call, or email.
How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to answer your inquiry, schedule and carry out your project, run our crew's schedules, hours, and job costs, keep the website secure, fix errors, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.
Who We Share It With
We share personal information only with the service providers that operate the website for us, and only as much as each one needs to do its job:
- Microsoft Azure hosts the website, its database, and uploaded files. Azure Application Insights records performance and error data.
- Twilio sends sign-in codes and crew schedule texts.
- SendGrid (a Twilio company) sends the confirmation email after an inquiry, email sign-in codes, and our daily summary of new inquiries.
- Calendly runs the booking form on the Schedule a Time page and keeps your booking under its own privacy policy. We read the names and email addresses of the people who booked, for our daily summary.
- Google reCAPTCHA checks that a form submission comes from a person, not a bot.
- IPinfo receives your IP address when a phone number field loads on the sign-in page or a staff page, to suggest your country. Your browser keeps that country in a cookie for 30 days.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces this website uses. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address and browser information.
- Elfsight shows our Instagram posts on the home page. When that section loads, Elfsight and Instagram receive your IP address and browser information.
- Sentry receives error reports, which can contain some personal information.
We may also disclose personal information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, browser local storage, and similar technologies to operate this website and, with your consent, to understand how visitors use it. We group these into two categories.
Strictly necessary. These are required for the website to function (for example, remembering your cookie choice, keeping you signed in, security, and submitting forms you fill out). They do not require consent and are always active.
"Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" (California residents). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide the required control. To make a privacy request, contact us at paul@miterandlathe.net.
How Long We Keep It
Server activity logs are deleted after 365 days, with two exceptions: records of your cookie choices, which we keep as proof of the choice you made, and a copy of each inquiry you send. Your inquiry and that copy, and your project and crew records, stay until you ask us to delete them.
Your Choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You may have more rights under the law of your state.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post every change on this page.
